In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Jon Ossoff proved once and for all that the special election in Georgia’s 6th District is a referendum on the floundering Presidency of Donald Trump. He didn’t hold back when asked for his opinion on the President:
“I have great respect for the office, I don’t have great personal admiration for the man himself.”
However, although he has gained popularity riding a wave of anti-Trump sentiment, Ossoff showed that he can back it up with foreign policy chops, as well. When asked for his thoughts on the quickly escalating situation in North Korea, he said:
“An artillery strike on Seoul would be very, very difficult to defend against and would be probably inevitable in the event of the outbreak of major hostilities. That’s one of the reasons that it’s such a flashpoint, but we can defeat the missile threat from North Korea with a range of defensive systems that we have, from our Navy and some of our land-based systems.”
While even Trump surrogates admit that Trump is “learning on the job,” Ossoff has displayed beyond doubt that he is a well-prepared, rational, diplomatic leader ready to represent Georgia’s 6th. Clearly, Trump knows this and – wary of yet another opponent in Congress – sent out a desperate and misleading tweet.
The super Liberal Democrat in the Georgia Congressioal race tomorrow wants to protect criminals, allow illegal immigration and raise taxes!

Trump can obfuscate Ossoff’s character as much as he wants, but he cannot hide the fact that his policies are so unpopular, even a district as historically conservative as Georgia’s 6th is starting to shed its Republican stranglehold.
