Mark Cuban excoriated President Donald Trump on “The View” Friday and slammed him for nepotism and not knowing how to lead.
“When I see somebody in a business and almost everybody in senior management is a family member, that’s a real sign they don’t know how to hire, they don’t know how to manage, they don’t know how to lead,” Cuban told “The View” co-host Joy Behar, referring to Trump’s familial appointments — which include daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner.
In response to Cuban’s jabs, Behar agreed and compared Trump’s penchant for nepotism to that of a dictator. “A lot of dictatorships have that, too,” she said.
Cuban, businessman and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, had much more flattering things to say about first daughter Ivanka, whom he called “brilliant.” But he lumped the president’s elder sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump together as just “OK.”
“He doesn’t have people that have been with him a long time that are now in the White House that aren’t related to him — or in his Trump companies,” Cuban said. “That’s a bad sign.”
Cuban said that Trump is “very insecure.”

Cuban also addressed reports that he’s considering a run for president in 2020.
When Behar asked if Cuban was “into” being the president, citing reports that his name was being floated as a potential presidential candidate, Cuban smiled and answered, “Definitely.”
“Definitely not,” he added on a lighter note, laughing. Amending his comments, Cuban said, “We’ll see what happens.”
After co-host Sara Haines interrupted and recalled a tweet where the president issued a personal takedown of Cuban, Cuban called the president an “idiot” and decried his Twitter habits.
Trump’s tweet, as read by Haines, said, “I know Mark Cuban well. He backed me big time, but I wasn’t interested in taking all of his calls. He’s not smart enough to run for president.”
“There’s nothing more surreal … ‘Oh, the president tweeted about me,’” Cuban responded to Haines’ reading of Trump’s tweet. “The hard part wasn’t what he said, ’cause he’s an idiot — I don’t care what he says. … I’ve got thick skin; he doesn’t. But the hard part was ‘How do I respond?’”
Cuban said that he mulled it over for an hour and decided on a fairly milquetoast response: “LOL.”
