President Donald Trump used the power of his social media account on Twitter Monday to spread a new poll showing that his favorability reached 50 percent after languishing for several weeks after his inauguration.
“TRUMP APPROVAL HITS 50%” the president excitedly tweeted.

This is after he retweeted the same from the Drudge Report social media account, with a link to a Rasmussen poll.
The Rasmussen poll shows an uptick in his favorability reaching 50 percent of Americans.
Previously his favorability hit a high of 59 percent right after his inauguration, but slid to a low of 42 percent as stumbling blocks fell before the administration’s agenda. His ban on travel from terror-stricken countries encountered obstruction from the courts, even after the order was re-written. His claim that Obama wiretapped Trump Towers began a political firestorm in the week where he was nearly universally praised for the address to a joint session of Congress.
More recently, Trump has scored some wins, as illegal immigrant crossings are dropped to historical lows, sanctuary cities shut down those policies based on threats from the federal government to shut down funding, and Americans appeared to support the airstrikes in Syria and the MOAB dropping on the Islamic State in Afghanistan.
