President Donald Trump is no fan of the mainstream media. He made that clear during the 2016 presidential election and continues to emphasize his disdain of the press more than 100 days into his first White House term.
But Trump became brazen during a wide-ranging interview with CBS “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson on Sunday in his criticisms of the media, and particularly Dickerson’s Sunday talk show.
Responding to question from Dickerson, who asked Trump about comments he made last week when he admitted to Reuters that being president is “tougher” than he imagined, Trump slammed Dickerson and his show.
“Well, it’s a tough job. But I’ve had a lot of tough jobs. I’ve had things that were tougher, although I’ll let you know that better at the end of eight years,” Trump said.
“You know, it’s very funny when the fake media goes out, you know, which we call the mainstream media which sometimes, I must say, is you,” the president explained.
“You mean me personally or?” Dickerson replied.
“Well, your show,” Trump shot back. “I call it ‘Deface the Nation.’ But, you know, your show is sometimes not exactly correct.”

It isn’t the first time that Trump has referred to Dickerson’s show as “Deface the Nation,” but it is the first time he’s done it to Dickerson’s face. In an interview with the Associated Press recently, Trump also referred to the CBS Sunday talk show by the name while boasting that he boosts the ratings on Sunday talk shows when he appears on them.
During his interview with Dickerson, Trump also discussed North Korea and China as well as his first 100 days in office.
